Desert Orchid Dance Company's authentically styled dances recreate the diversity of Middle Eastern dances and cultures. Performing raks al assaya, raks al sayf, khaleegy, dabke, and other complicated pieces reveals the dancers' devotion and respect for an often misunderstood dance form.

With the companys experiences ranging from over two decades to six years in the dance, we rehearse together regularly to polish and refine skills and performances.

We perform at weddings, reunions, festivals, school assemblies and fund raising events. Full stage presentations featuring the live music of Kairo By Night is also a regular part of our performance.

The dancers feel strongly that attending a wide variety of dance events and experiencing a broad spectrum of instruction is essential. Consequently, they have been inspired by many dancers and instructors. "We aim to continue educating ourselves about the dance, the culture,and the history of the Middle East: cultivating it, and sharing it."
